Designing for Healing
As part of a year-long research project in product design at Laval University, my teammate and I embarked on a mission to develop a product that could have a positive impact on people's mental health. Inspired by the experiences of a military friend, who was personally affected by PTSD, we were driven to help those suffering from this condition. Our result is a support device initially tailored for military personnel living with PTSD, but with potential applications in various group therapy settings. This device serves as both a ritualistic tool and a crisis intervention device, fostering strong bonds among participants and encouraging active engagement in group sessions. By making emotional support tangible, our product serves as a guiding companion on the journey to healing.
